J.L. Pfrommer is a writer and lawyer who has been writing about law for 16 years. Obsessed with classic novels from a young age, he studied creative writing and Russian literature before attending law school.

When he was a child, he often listened to a grand-uncle reminisce about working, as a young man, for a noted explorer. His relative claimed to have spent three years tracking and capturing rare animals for zoos, and to have survived several leopard and bear attacks.

His uncle’s tales of close escapes and unusual creatures living deep in the forests of central Africa, North America, and Eastern Europe, sparked his imagination and inspired him to write The Pursuit of an Unknown Ape.
